2010
As a new team, Hot Metal's goals were to build a sustainable program that could compete at our highest potential by gathering some vets and taking on new athletic talent from area colleges and high schools. Our belief was that by combining experience with young talent, we'd create an atmosphere of learning, winning and, equally as important, looking good.
With no one on the team being older than 29, our age range still spanned 12 years. Our average age was 22 and exactly half of our roster had never played women's club before. And still, they wrote about us in history books.
Season results:
-No Surf champions; undefeated
-Motown Throwdown champions; undefeated
-3rd at Chesapeake Open with wins over Showdown, Ozone and Blue Route
-7th at Philly Fusion with a win over Phoenix
-1st at Sectionals, undefeated
-5th at Mid-Atlantic Regionals
-Creating a sisterhood. The Sisterhood of the Traveling Champions.
