Wikipedia tells us the Hot Metal Bridge carried conventional railroad traffic and crucibles of molten steel from the blast furnaces, to the rolling mills on the opposite bank of the Monongahela River beginning in 1887. Today, 123 years later, the women of Pittsburgh, with their bodies fashioned in those very steel mills, decided they would play the fris in the name of the City of Champions, the City of Bridges, the City of Something-Resembling-English. In her inaugural year, Hot Metal welcomed players from different areas and experience levels to compete clad in Black & Gold - ready to cross bridges and take names.
